          Andrew Hernandez, a.k.a J-Bez, was born and raised in the northwest side of Chicago and has come from the lifestyle of streets to a lifestyle that restores the streets. He noticed something in life that he never could have imagined. That is, when someone is transformed by the power of God, no matter the testimony, you just can’t picture them living that lifestyle before. Running the gang-related lifestyle, drug dealing, drug abusing (to the point of overdosing and a near-death experience), plus doing music in the world was just the start. After his first arrest, Andrew looked at life as if it’s time for payback. With warrants for arrest hailing from ATL, Orlando, a run-in with a Chicago gang and a contract out on his life, he was always on the run. He even kept a low profile among friends and family members, who never knew what was happening until it all came to light. After his last arrest and looking at a 5-year prison sentence, Andrew took a change in his life. Going back and forth from Florida to Atlanta on the Greyhound, Andrew sure had a lot to think about. Already with his first child and needing a change, he promised his mother to stop all that he was doing and begin all over, fresh in Hollywood, Florida. Unfortunately, it got worse. As months went by, he got right back into the coke game, without family knowing, and found himself in the middle of an attempted murder situation where he would have been the accomplice. This was Andrew’s breaking point, preparing him for true change in Jesus Christ. When he got a job at a local pharmacy store, there was a family who would constantly come in and invite him to church, which he gladly declined. But as we know, God knows what will get our attention. One day, this married couple’s daughter said to him, “Monkey, please come to church,” and he couldn’t say no. That’s when it happened. After accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, a visitation of the Holy Spirit, tears of freedom and gifts beginning to manifest, J-Bez was born. True transformation took place. Soon after, his charges were dropped and his record was wiped away (glory to God). Today, J-Bez is married to his beautiful wife Chantel Hernandez and he now has two children: his daughter Angelyna, and their baby boy Andrew, Jr. (Baby Bez). J-Bez is taking the Gospel to the streets, through God’s calling of evangelism, keeping in mind his life verse: (Hebrews 2:18) “Because He [Jesus] Himself suffered when He was tempted, He is able to help those who are being tempted.” As for the music, J-Bez gave up the worldly mindset, the secular beats, and is now doing it all to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 5:17). This is where 1 A-CORD was born. J-Bez’s manager, Mike Casanova, received a vision for a ministry to step in the gap for the local Christian rappers (ministers of God). Pastor Streets with D2M, whose 10-year credibility in holiness and correction, has passed the torch to J-Bez. The vision and calling of building bridges throughout the body of Christ is at hand.
